Looking to make a breakthrough in your skiing before the season begins? Consider joining a GMVS Junior Development camp. Throughout the year, GMVS offers several camps for aspiring ski racers who want to gain important technical and tactical skills, or experience GMVS first hand. We offer a variety of opportunities throughout the year when you can visit the GMVS campus, train at our amazing facilities, and/or travel with our coaches and racers.

GMVS Ski Club Assistant Director
Sally grew up in the Mad River Valley and was a member of the Sugarbush/GMVS Ski Club as a young racers. Sally graduated from GMVS in 1987, was a member of the U.S. Ski Team from 1985 to 1989 and a four-time first-team All-American and NCAA champion, skiing for the University of Vermont. While at UVM she majored in Secondary Education. After coaching U19 boys at GMVS, Sally spent ten years running the Mad River Ski Club before coming to the Sugarbush/GMVS Ski Club during the 2011 season. Sally lives in Waitsfield with her husband, Steve, and their two daughters, Katie and Hannah.
Thanksgiving Sunday River Race Camp Nov 21-24, 2020
Open to U10s and older, this camp is designed to provide early season, on-snow mileage focused on technical free skiing. Sally Utter will be leading this camp—additional staff will depend on the numbers and ages of participants. The goal of this camp is to get athletes back on snow and work on fundamental skills including fore/aft balance, carving, and pole plants (among other skills).
- Families are responsible for their own room and board as well as lift tickets.
- All campers must be a member of US Ski & Snowboard.

GMVS Power Term Dec 7-11 2020
GMVS Power Term is a five day program designed to jumpstart the young ski racer’s season. It is open to U.S. Ski and Snowboard and Alpine Canada registered U12 and U14 athletes. Participating athletes will see GMVS’ renowned athletic program first hand. They will train with GMVS coaches and athletes on the famed Kelly Brush Race Arena.
On a typical day, Power Term athletes will meet at 9:00 at the GMVS Ski Club and be picked up at 3pm. On hill training under the direction of GMVS coaches will incorporate directed free skiing, drills, gate training and video analysis.
Cost: $850 Day camp – Includes lunch (lift ticket not included)
Holiday Race Camp Dec 14-16, 2020
The three day GMVS Holiday Race Camp is open to U.S. Ski and Snowboard and Alpine Canada registered U12 and U14 racers. This high-volume training opportunity will be focused on technical free skiing, Slalom and Giant Slalom gate training and video analysis.
Cost: $500 Day camp – Includes lunch (lift ticket not included)
Power Race Camps
Registration for all camps is open and closes two weeks prior to the start of each camp.
These three-day camps are designed to be intense training periods, focusing on one discipline at a time. Camps run 9am to 3 p.m. each day and include a comprehensive technical progression with video analysis and timing. These camps are designed for U12 and U14 athletes. Mt. Hood Summer Race Camp June 19-29, 2021

GMVS academy coaches will offer an exceptional on- snow experience for U12 – U14 athletes. The Mt. Hood Summer camp offers:
- 8 days of on-snow training
- Daily technical free skiing, slalom and GS training
- Physical conditioning, tuning, and video analysis
- Technical and tactical written evaluations

Eliteam World Cup and Europa Cup Camps
Eliteam camps, coordinated by alumni Doug and Kelly Lewis, utilize the entire GMVS campus, including the Racing Performance Center, dormitories, fields and ropes courses. Eliteam teaches young athletes to challenge themselves, “dig deeper,” and become stronger, faster, healthier and more confident athletes.
